The Wildings program is 100% outside and designed to meet the unique needs of middle school participants. In this transitional time between childhood and young adulthood, regular nature immersion brings peace and grounding. By learning about the natural world, working with peers and mentors through challenges, and building new skills, participants gain confidence and a sense of their place in the world.

This program is place-based and inquiry-driven. Projects and curriculum emerge from the interests, discoveries, and conversations between students and teachers.  Teambuilding activities forge connections and expand awareness of self and community. If you would like, you can schedule a site visit to meet our directors and learn more about us.

The program offers:

  • Time to be present, explore and connect with nature and peers

  • Mindfulness and grounding exercises

  • Nature Journaling

  • Environmental monitoring and other in-depth projects or research

  • Learning to use and create maps and field guides

  • Foraging and wildcrafting

  • Bushcraft and tool use

  • Making and cooking with fires

  • For our 2021/2022 9-month program , option to participate in end-of-year backpacking trip
